Bio

Pursuing overseas studies in his teens, voluntarily suspending schooling to be on a founding team for starting a limited partnership with college mates, and joining export business, Tim Tian had a diverse life experience prior to his legal career. After returning to university and acquiring his degree, Tim worked as technical specialist at Vodafone Group in New Zealand.

“As enjoyable as I have been in other fields, IP suits me the best.” Tim represents international and domestic clients in a variety of areas including counseling, opinions, re-examination, and patent prosecution in the telecommunications and software areas. He uses his technical advantage to quickly understand the technology behind innovation, and at the same time, Tim relies on his project management experience to view that innovation through the lens of business-need to craft and prosecute valuable patents that achieve the client’s overall goals.

His practice also includes intensive trademark prosecution and unfair competition. Tim’s unique background and experience make him a strong asset in cases presenting both patent and trademark issues, and he works closely with foreign associates around the world.
